BLACKCURRANT CASSIS ART, Fruit Food Print, Vintage Botanical Boho Art Print, Minimal Plant Art For Home Wall Decor, Greenery Printable
ab 17,00 €
A fine art print of a watercolour blackcurrant branch. The very frst painting of my fruit series, and my first painted on 30x40cm paper. Many firsts, so this one is quite special to me. I love how the assymetry gives the painting more depth.
And we're back to Tasmania, Australia, were I worked on an organic blueberry farm for the summer: between the rows of blueberries, grew three blackcurrant bushes. I never asked why they were there, but one day, three French guys and I picked all the ripe currants. Cassis is a fairly important fruit in the French (and Belgian) kitchen. Its use in cassis liqueur (poetically called Crème de Cassis, blackcurrant cream, in French) and blackcurrant coulis are widespread. That evening, we googled a recipe and made our own coulis. - This is probably the point at which I should be honest and admit we actually wanted to make jam, but something went wrong and we got something unbelievably strong in taste, with the liquid consistency of coulis. The result was better than we could have hoped for. Following this, there were many days of ice cream topped with our homemade coulis de cassis.
